Morocco decides to teach English from primary school

The Moroccan government has decided to start teaching English from the fourth year of primary schooling, in addition to teaching French in a new way in the preparatory and secondary "to raise the efficiency of the students", said Minister of National Education, Rashid Belmokhtar, on Thursday, March 10.

Belmokhtar said in an interview with the state news agency that he "will be launched in English teaching starting from the fourth year of primary education," stressing that "the teaching of foreign languages ​​does not mean at all to marginalize the Arabic language."

Students were not only studying French from elementary school after learning the Arabic language before it rules.

He continued, "will be taught French in secondary wire in a new way to raise the efficiency of pupils in this article and enable them to study some of the material in French when they move to the secondary level."

He said that "the promotion of foreign languages, as well as the two official languages ​​in Arabic and Amazigh, would raise the chances of integration of students into the labor market, while enabling them to open up to science."

The minister stressed, "will focus on the scientific and technological material" through the teaching of foreign languages.
